Prince William Sound Hunting

Whittier Water Taxi offers Prince William Sound Sitka Black-tailed deer hunter drop offs throughout Southwestern Prince William Sound from August through December, as well as all inclusive hunting packages with our Prince William Sound Lodging base camp boat. The most popularly requested areas to hunt deer are Knight Island, Naked Island, Green Island and Montague Island. On Montague Island we can drop you off anywhere on the inside shore of the island. We do not drop off on the outside shore of Montague Island. As with the bear hunts, we find that hunters who camp bring home more deer than those who stay in the cabins. For deer hunts planned after October 15th we require that each hunting party has a satellite phone with them for communication. The best deal on satellite phones is with Anchorage Satellite Phones. Whittier Water Taxi is the most reliable fall deer drop off service in Prince William Sound.

For drop off hunts, the water taxi fee is determined by mileage, gear load and number of passengers.

Raft rental and kayak rental are available from Heidi at Alaska adventure Tours. The raft is a 12’ green raft with a 6HP motor and is $150 per day ($100/day without the motor). The kayaks are Wilderness Systems 14' Pungo Angler single camouflage kayaks and are $45/day. These kayaks are very stable and have fishing pole holders for your convenience.
